SM/SJ Faith Formation News:  SYMBOLON


You are invited to participate

 in a parish-wide journey through our rich Catholic faith

guided by the acclaimed series,


beginning the week of October 1

You will have a choice of two ways in which to participate in this study and everyone will have an opportunity to share their “journey experiences” and have their questions answered at an “open discussion gathering” held after every 5th SYMBOLON episode.  To help keep everyone on the same course, our journey’s “ weekly itinerary” will be posted in the Sunday bulletins under the title:  “ SYMBOLON Itinerary .”

Attention Teens and Parents of Teens!   Check out SYMBOLON: YDisciple: The Creed , on  Teens will be able to participate in the parish-wide study too!  

There is also a Spanish version of SYMBOLON available on!

Participant Study Options:

OPTION 1 Participate at your convenience, by accessing SYMBOLON via your free access to  (see “ FORMED ,” below, for details)

OPTION 2 .   Participate in a weekly SYMBOLON study group, which will meet in the SJ rectory meeting room, Thursday mornings, 9:30AM - 11:00AM, beginning Oct 5.

For A Deeper Understanding of the material covered in SYMBOLON , participants will be encouraged to refer to the following resources:

  1. Love Unveiled by Dr. Edward Sri, found in the book section of
  2. United States Catholic Catechism for Adults , published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (available through: USCCB or AMAZON, etc.)    
  3. Attend an open discussion of SYMBOLON, to be held after every 5 th episode of SYMBOLON.   Watch bulletin for details

By taking this journey together as a parish, we will be able to grow together as we share what we have learned with each other; we will be better prepared to answer Jesus’ call to evangelize – to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
