Eucharistic Adoration
Come and spend an hour with Jesus in silent adoration, contrition, thanksgiving,
and petition. The graces obtained through Eucharistic Adoration help to heighten
spirituality and inner peace, and unit us with the heart of Jesus. Refer to the
parish bulletin for scheduled day and time. If you would like to attend
Eucharist Adoration every week at a set hour of your choice, or if you are
available to be on call as a substitute for someone who is unable to attend his
or her scheduled hour, then please make your availability known to the rectory
office.
Holy Hours
A Holy Hour is celebrated several times during the liturgical year to celebrate
special feast days such as the Feast of Christ The King, Divine Mercy Sunday,
and the Feast of St. Jerome. Holy Hour begins with exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament, usually followed by alternating periods of prayer and silent
meditation. The Holy Hour ends with Benediction and song. Refer to the bulletin
for dates and times.
Stations of The Cross
Meditation on the Stations of the Cross is held every Friday evening during the
season of Lent. Consult the bulletin during Lent for time.
Lauds & Vespers
Lauds, morning prayers of the Church, will be recited as a community on the
mornings of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the three days on
which Mass is not celebrated. Recitation of morning prayers as a community
during the Easter Triduum helps us focus on the passion and death of Jesus as we
wait to celebrate His triumphant victory over sin and death on Easter Sunday.
Consult the Holy Week bulletin for details.
Vespers, evening prayers of the Church, will be recited as a community once a
week during Advent. Advent vespers provide parishioners with an opportunity to
step away from the “hustle and bustle” atmosphere of the holiday season and
spend some quiet time in prayerful reflection as we prepare our heart for the
coming of Jesus. Consult the November/December bulletin for details.
The Rosary
“With the Rosary, the Christian people sit at the school of Mary and is led to
contemplate the beauty of the face of Christ and to experience the depths of His
love.” (Pope John Paul II).
Join us for the recitation of the Rosary before the First Saturday Mass each
month and on other special occasions. Refer to the weekly bulletin.
May Crowning
In the month of May we honor Mary, Mother of God, in a very special way, through
the recitation of a living rosary and a crowning of flowers led by the students
of St. Jerome School and the parish First Communicants. Mary’s holy life is an
inspiration to us, a guide, a model and an ideal, for us to strive for. Refer to
the April/May bulletins for date and time.
St. Monica Novena
A Mass and Novena to St. Monica is held every Tuesday at 7:00 AM to ask St.
Monica to intercede on our behalf for our personal intentions.
